SUMMARY:
Implements, manages, and supports district network services including but not limited to Wide Area Networks, Local Area Networks, Wireless Networks, Name Services, Firewall, and related security services.

Builds, monitors, and ensures availability and capacity of district network services.
Maintains network devices, infrastructure, and security.
Upgrades and/or replaces network devices when necessary.
Monitors capacity and utilization of network infrastructure, as well as general network health.
Identifies and remediates internal and external network security threats.
Designs, installs, inventories and maintains UPS systems.
Assists in designing, planning, implementing, managing and inventory of district network services.
Creates, monitors, and maintains accurate records, systems, and other documents.
Collaborates in the design of special project set-ups.
Maintains an infrastructure monitoring system to ensure problems are detected and resolved.
Works with outside consultants and vendors to ensure proper functioning systems.
Maintains remote network access capabilities for appropriate users.
Coordinates change management related to network systems.
Serves as top escalation point for network-related service desk requests.
Supports district disaster recovery systems.
Collaborates on ITIL process management for network services.
Collaborate on server systems installation, implementation and maintenance.
Performs systems maintenance procedures (e.
g.
deployment of operating system patches, security hot fixes, security updates, backups).
Restores systems to a working state if a system fails.
Monitors and maintain security of critical systems.
Provides technical assistance, support, and training.
Promotes and supports the overall mission of the District by demonstrating courteous and cooperative behavior when interacting with public and staff; acts in a manner that promotes a harmonious and effective workplace environment.
QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in computer technology, or a closely related field.
Three (3) years of professional network systems experience.
OR an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Required Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations: Continued employment is contingent upon all required licenses and certificates being maintained in active status without suspension or revocation.
Driver’s license.
Network Administration Certification (CCNA or other vendor equivalent) Required Knowledge and Skills Required Knowledge: Windows Server, Linux, MacOS, iOS, Active Directory, Enterprise Email Systems, Server & Network Virtualization; on premise and cloud hosted.
District policies and procedures.
Principles and techniques of making effective oral presentations.
Computer applications related to the work.
Correct business English, including spelling, grammar and punctuation.
Required Skills: Analyzing and prioritizing multiple tasks, projects and demands.
Operating a personal computer using standard and specialized software.
Communicating effectively verbally and in writing.
Contributing effectively to the accomplishment of team or work unit goals, objectives and activities.
