As the Technical Service Representative, you will support onsite our vital Liquid Coatings customers in the greater Minneapolis, MN and surrounding area and will assume the field account responsibility, ensuring customer satisfaction with PPG products by providing hands-on and technical expertise, troubleshooting, and customer support.
You form the backbone of PPG's efforts to maintain and grow this account through your onsite support.
As a TSR you will provide the customer with product and technical know-how ensuring PPG products and services outperform competitors.
As the TSR you are the field expert in product composition, customer application equipment, effecting environmental issues, and processes that are ancillary to the finishing operations.
You will report to Industrial Coatings Service Manager.

Responsibilities: Provide regional onsite sales and technical support including troubleshooting, product support, product launches, and the commissioning, installation, testing and maintenance service to customers.
Assist leaders in development of sales strategies and commercialization of new liquid coatings/products/processes and anticipate up-coming customers’ needs in order to grow the account.
Comply with all PPG and customer EHS policies.
Proactively advise customers on PPG product quality, training, inventory management, troubleshooting, coating application technologies.
Resolve customer issues through investigation, troubleshooting, testing, and working with our team to correct/replace.
Manage projects, process improvement, purchasing, and reporting.
May travel to customer locations and assist colleagues at other customer locations as needed.
Qualifications: BA/BS degree; OR HS diploma/GED and equivalent combination of skills, experience, training, and Liquid Coatings knowledge.
3-5+ years of experience in Liquid Coatings including Application Equipment and/or mixing room.
Moderate computer proficiency including general experience with Word, Excel, Outlook and also Oracle, SAP, or similar ERP/database software.
Knowledge of accounting, statistics, or general book-keeping for the purposes of reporting and identifying trends would be helpful.
Strong technical problem identification and resolution skills Strong customer service skills.
Able to sit, stand, walk, kneel, and work at a desk throughout the day; able to lift up to 50lbs.
Travel daily to regional customer(s) locations and occasionally assist colleagues at their locations.
