ADVANCED WIRELESS COMMUNICATIONS is currently seeking qualified and experienced Two-Way Radio (DAS) Technicians to repair, align and maintain our wireless communication systems.
As a Field Technician you will be responsible for the installation of Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS) and associated infrastructure; trouble-shooting, programming, and repairing of all tiers of AWC proprietary and Kenwood radios and other manufacturers radio products on a system level These products will include portables, mobiles, repeaters, combiners, antennas and network infrastructure.
This position requires travel with no weekends away and flexible destinations and scheduling.
Install, test, repair and maintain DAS, repeaters, combiners and proprietary infrastructure for a variety of customers in the retail and long-term care industry.
Follow tests procedures, schematics and other instructions and troubleshoots to the component level (analog and digital circuitry) with the use of instrumentation and test aids.
Interfaces with Production, Quality Control and Engineering on recurring and/or workmanship problems, to make suggestions on component or design changes and for training on newly released products.
Repairs and/or replaces the respective components when required
Interfaces with vendors on troubleshooting of other OEM radio products.
Fills out repair report with a detailed failure analysis, and noting correct assembly/model numbers, physical damage, cosmetic defects, functional defects, components replaced.
Notifies supervisor when not meeting scheduled target dates.
Reports directly to the Service and Installation Manager on the completion of service reports.
Supports supervisor on the training of fellow technicians.
Collaborates with Sales on loaner/demo products to be programmed for potential customers and/or returned from the field.
Test equipment experience, utilization and maintenance required.
Travel up to 3 weeks per month likely.

Job Details
DAS experiences preferred and experience maintaining and repairing two-way communications equipment is required.
Extensive troubleshooting experience to the component level, including both analog and digital circuitry.
Able to troubleshoot Kenwood, Vertex, Motorola radio products and the ability to interpret schematics, block diagrams and wiring diagrams.
Candidates must have experience meeting daily production goals.
Previous employment with Two-Way radio dealers, Public Safety repair shops and other manufacturers is a plus.
PLT unregistered acquiring or PLT registered Preferred
Certifications on a variety of OEM radio equipment models preferred.
Proficient in using service monitors, spectrum analyzer, watt meters, frequency generator, frequency counter, digital multimeter etc.

Must be customer service oriented.
AS degree in Engineering or related field or equivalent certification plus 3+ years of experience preferred.
Military specialties in engineering or communications are encouraged to apply.
