What We’re Looking For
Banner Engineering has an opportunity for a Mechanical Design Engineer to work within a multidisciplinary team striving to maintain, improve, and design products within their discipline.
Duties and Responsibilities
Documenting product specifications, generating concept ideas, and leading concept selection
Performing qualification tests to ensure conformance to specifications
Developing details designs and documentation including tolerance analysis for collaboration with suppliers in the DFM Process
Resolving part and process issues by working with production engineering, manufacturing, and suppliers
Working with global suppliers on qualifying mechanical parts made with a variety of processes.
Qualifications
Required
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field
0-5 years of mechanical engineering experience, new grads encouraged to apply
Knowledge of solid modeling, preferably using Creo
Ability to work on multiple projects and coordinate with multiple departments simultaneously
Preferred
Working knowledge of fabrication processes, such as, plastic injection molding, machining, metal forming, die-casting, and laser cutting
Experience designing plastic injection molded parts including analysis with mold flow
Experience with design of experiments (DOE) and finite element analysis (FEA)
Working knowledge of metrology, associated tools, and statistical techniques
Project leadership experience
