Job Summary: This position will be responsible for overseeing the construction administration process out of the Minneapolis office to ensure smooth and successful project completion.
The Construction Administrator will assist the engineers in the construction phases, observe construction for conformity to drawings and specifications, and provide interpretations of data, drawings, and policies.
This position will build positive relationships with clients and ensure their expectations are met on time.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: • Effectively review shop drawings for compliance with internal team and specifications.
• Frequently attend/facilitate construction meetings and take accurate minutes.
• Successfully complete site visits to ensure project is efficiently moving towards completion.
• Professionally interact with clients and respond to RFIs in a timely manner.
• Accurately document construction changes through working with technicians to revise drawings and/or specifications.
• Successfully follow deadlines to prepare proposal requests.
• Effectively perform final checklists and review Operation Manuals for completion.
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications (Education, Experience, and Licenses/Certifications required): • Associates degree in related field.
• 5+ years of field construction, mechanical design, journeyman trade, or other applicable experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Desire to produce quality work and grow professionally.
• Ability to travel to various job sites.
• Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office products.
• Ability to maintain excellent integrity and ethical standards within role.
Problem Solving: Problems and solutions are unique and unpredictable but are like those previously encountered.
Solutions require judgment such as setting priorities, evaluating results and/or coordinating with others.
Supervision Required: Performs duties within scope of general policies, procedures, and objectives with minimal supervision.
Refers exceptions to supervisor.
Decision-Making Impact: Independent judgment is required to study previously established, often partially relevant guidelines; plans various connected activities, and coordinates these activities within a team.
Develops objectives and general policies and procedures for a specific program or team within general scope of established company goals and plans.
Decisions impact areas outside of organization.
Work Complexity: Tasks are multiple and diverse with some connectedness across processes.
Work requires the direct application of a variety of procedures, policies, and processes.
Supervisory Responsibilities: This position will not supervise.
Physical Requirements: This position will require regular sitting, talking, hearing, and vision.
Frequent standing, walking, climbing/balancing, reaching with arms, and feeling/touching as well as occasional crouching/crawling and lifting/carrying objects weighing over 20lbs may be required.
